Market operations

AEMO is responsible for the settlement of all Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) transactions, other than energy and capacity that is bilaterally traded. AEMO is also responsible for monitoring Rule Participants' market settlements transactions, to ensure each Rule Participant has security to adequately cover their operational exposure in the market.

Rule Participants who intend to submit a Notice of Disagreement in respect of a Settlement Statement must lodge a Notice of Disagreement via the 'Forms' tab of the Prudentials-Settlements User Interface in WEMS MPI. This form in WEMS requires the information relating to clause 9.16.5 of the WEM Rules.
