Published annually, AEMO’s Strategic Corporate Plan outlines our vision, strategic priorities, key initiatives and performance measures to support the continued safe, reliable and affordable delivery of energy for all Australians and enable the energy transition.
AEMO’s Draft FY26 Strategic Corporate Plan maintains the four strategic priorities that have guided the company since FY22:
- Priority 1 – Operating today’s energy systems and markets
- Priority 2 – Navigating the energy future
- Priority 3 – Engaging our stakeholders
- Priority 4 – Evolving the way we work
These priorities guide how we meet our core obligations to industry and consumers while preparing for the energy systems and markets of the future, enabling investment, and improving how we operate. For each strategic priority, the plan also sets out targeted initiatives that define AEMO’s key focus areas and include measures to track progress, manage risk, and deliver value to energy consumers.
While many functions AEMO performs are mandated, we value the perspectives stakeholders can offer on how we best deliver against priorities in a way that supports positive outcomes across the energy sector. As part of our continued commitment to transparency and accountability, AEMO is undertaking public consultation on its Draft FY26 Strategic Corporate Plan.
Consultation now open
From Monday 12 May until Wednesday 28 May 2025, AEMO is inviting stakeholder feedback on the strategic priorities and initiatives outlined in its Draft FY26 Strategic Corporate Plan (feedback on other Plan sections is not part of consultation scope).
Specific feedback themes AEMO is interested in stakeholder views on are:
- whether the purpose and relevance of each initiative is clearly communicated.
- whether the right initiatives have been identified or any key focus areas may be missing.
- which initiatives are seen as the most important to prioritise.
- how well the initiatives align with stakeholder needs and sector-wide objectives, and any other considerations AEMO should be aware of when delivering these initiatives.
For questions or to make a submission, email stakeholderrelations@aemo.com.au by 5pm (AEST) Wednesday 28 May 2025.
Feedback will be considered and summarised by AEMO in the development of a final Corporate Plan, which will be published prior to 30 June 2025. We will continue to refine our approach to consultation in future years and apply insights gained through this process to inform upcoming plans and engagement activities.
