NEM Maintenance Forum – ACCC Authorisation Protocol

AEMO convenes and conducts NEM Maintenance Forums to coordinate and share information on the scheduling System Works in the NEM, as authorised by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission on 30 November 2023 (find the Final Determination here). The Protocol for the NEM Maintenance Forums, which sets out important rules for AEMO and participants, is available below. This Protocol differs from the Protocol for previous authorisations, including the interim authorisation in force immediately before this authorisation.

NEM Maintenance Forum Information Notes

AEMO will publish a NEM Maintenance Forum Information Note (“Information Note”) in relation to each NEM Maintenance Forum to comply with Conditions 6 and 7 of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission authorisation. Information Notes will be published on the AEMO website on this webpage, as soon as reasonably practicable after the relevant NEM Maintenance Forum. Each published Information Note will be replaced by the most recent Information Note for that NEM region on the AEMO website.

AEMO prepares and provides NEM Maintenance Forum Information Notes (“Information Notes”) to comply with Conditions 6 and 7of the authorisation granted by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission on 30 November 2023, in respect of coordination and information sharing on the scheduling of System Works in the National Electricity Market (authorisation AA1000643).

The information in Information Notes is provided to AEMO by Registered Participants attending the NEM Maintenance Forums solely to enable AEMO and the participants to plan for and/or minimise disruptions to electricity supply.

The information in Information Notes is current only at the date and time of the NEM Maintenance Forum identified in the title of the Information Note. The information can change at short notice due to various operational and other circumstances. Changes to the information contained in Information Notes will generally be reflected in the pre-dispatch schedule, Projected Adequacy of System Adequacy (PASA) published by AEMO, and subsequent Information Notes published on this website.
