Connections Scorecard
AEMO’s connections scorecard reports key NEM generation connection statistics including volumes of projects progressing through the connection stages and timeframes. This reporting aims to provide industry with increased visibility on key connection metrics as we work together to build the required generation capacity in the NEM.

Electricity Statement of Opportunities (ESOO)
The Electricity Statement of Opportunities (ESOO) provides technical and market data for the National Electricity Market (NEM) over a 10-year period to inform the planning and decision-making of market participants, new investors, and jurisdictional bodies.
The NEM ESOO incorporates AEMO’s Reliability Forecast under the Retailer Reliability Obligations (RRO) and the Energy Adequacy Assessment Projection (EAAP). -
Integrated System Plan (ISP)
AEMO’s Integrated System Plan (ISP) is a whole-of-system plan to identify the least system cost investments needed for Australia’s future energy system, including new generation and corresponding transmission augmentations. The ISP can provide helpful information regarding the most efficient location for new generation, as well as augmentations that may make connection to the DSN easier.

Key Connection Information (KCI)
The following Key Connection Information (KCI) is required to be published on the Generation Information Page under NER 3.7F(3). The information is part of a series of changes to the National Electricity Rules (NER) to improve the transparency of new generation projects in the National Electricity Market (NEM). Scroll down section 3.

National Electricity Rules (NER)
The National Electricity Rules governs the planning and operation of the National Electricity Market (NEM). Changes to the National Electricity Rules are made by the AEMC. The Rules are made by the AEMC under the National Electricity Law and have the force of law.

NEM Generation Maps
AEMO has published a series of maps that provide details on:
Volumes of connection interest within particular NEM* regions and sub regions.
These maps are intended to facilitate more informed decision-making by potential investors, allow network service providers (NSP) to consider potential future network expansion, and for AEMO to identify potential operational constraint and emerging security issues.

System Strength Impact Assessment Guidelines
The System Strength Impact Assessment Guidelines (SSIAG) are made under clause 4.6.6 of the National Electricity Rules (NER). The key function of the SSIAG is to prescribe how connecting Network Service Providers (NSPs) will assess the impact of a connection to system strength when processing connection enquiries, applications for connection or alterations to plant.

System Strength Withstand SCR Methodology Review
AEMO is currently investigating an issue with the application of Withstand Short Circuit Ratio (SCR) test methodology in the System Strength Impact Assessment Guidelines (SSIAG). This page covers details of the methodology review.
