Currently the Western Australian Gas Retail Market Agreement (WAGRMA) requires the Economic Regulation Authority (ERA) to approve membership of a new participant to the scheme. ERA have advised that this is costly and redundant, given the requirement for AEMO to vet new participants in the WAGRMA. The changes decribed in the Procedure Change Request (PCR) proposes to remove the ERA requirement to approve new participants joining the scheme.
