Actual LOR2 South Australia Region - 06 Sept 2016
Actual LOR2 South Australia Region - 06 Sept 2016
Refer AEMO Electricity Market Notice 54686
An Actual LOR2 condition is declared for the South Australia region from 0710 hrs until further notice due to the planned outage of the Heywood No.2 500 kV busbar.
If a credible contingency event occurs during this period the South Australia region would separate from the rest of the NEM and is likely to result in interruptions to power supplies.
There are sufficient capacity reserves in the South Australia region to meet electricity demand but it may not be possible to bring the required additional capacity into service in time to avoid automatic under-frequency load shedding causing power interruptions.

Planned outage of Heywood No.1 500kV Bus in Victoria region from 05/10/2016 0600 hrs to 06/10/2016 1600 hrs
This market notice is FOR INFORMATION ONLY.
The Heywood No.1 500 kV busbar in Victoria Region is planned out of service from 0600 hrs on 05 October 2016 to 1600 hrs on 06 October 2016. During this outage, Heywood 500/275 kV M1 transformer will be off-loaded and Heywood - Tarrone - Alcoa Portland No.1 500 kV line will be open at Heywood.
During this outage, a credible contingency can separate South Australia region from the rest of the NEM.
Under these circumstances, 35 MW of Raise and Lower regulation FCAS will be sourced from South Australia for the duration of this outage. In addition, consistent with AEMO existing procedures, adequate contingency FCAS lower requirements will also be sourced from South Australia at times when power transfer is from South Australia to Victoria.
The following constraint sets have been invoked for this outage:
F-I_HYSE (includes F-S_LREG_0035 and F-S_RREG_0035)
S-X_BC_CP
V-HYTX_M12
V-HY_500BUS
Refer AEMO Network Outage Schedule (NOS) for further details.
AEMO will continue monitoring this proposed outage and will update the Market accordingly.

NEM VAr Dispatch Schedule System (VDS) Operational Go-Live Commencing 31 August 2016
AEMO announces that the Operational Go-live of the NEM VAr Dispatch Schedule (VDS) System is scheduled at 10.00 am market time today 31 August 2016.
The VDS System Trial in Closed-loop Mode commenced on 15 February 2016 and in effect the VDS System has been an operational tool for more than six months. Positive outcomes have been achieved during the trial through tuning the parameters used by the VDS System to align its recommended actions with good operating practice. AEMO will continue tuning as part of its normal operating practices to further improve the VDS System, and work with Reactive Plant Operators on further system enhancements.
