Stage 2: Project lifecycle management and file exchange
Following the delivery of the Solution Register, Stage 2 will expand the NEM Connections Hub to support project lifecycle management and secure file exchange for NEM connection and Early Assessment Framework (EAF) projects.
Stage 2 is intended to provide stakeholders with greater visibility of project progress, milestone changes, key project information and submitted artefacts through a secure, shared system.
The final scope and features remain subject to ongoing design, technical and security assessment.
What you'll be able to do
Stay aligned on project progress and milestones
Access a shared view of project information, progress and key lifecycle milestones, helping stakeholders stay aligned as projects evolve.
This is expected to include:
- Visibility of project stage and status
- Tracking of key milestone dates
- Access to project information and responsibilities
- Reporting and forecasting of upcoming activities
- Continuity of project information when teams, ownership or responsibilities change
Submit and manage project files securely
Exchange project models, study reports and supporting information through a secure online environment.
This is expected to include:
- Upload and download of project artefacts relevant to each stage of the process
- Visibility of submission history and file versions
- Tracking of assessment and review progress
- Support for resubmissions and change summaries
- Secure management of sensitive project information
Connect files, queries and project information
Provide greater context and traceability by linking submitted artefacts, project information and Solution Register queries within the one system.
This will help stakeholders more easily understand project history, supporting information and associated decisions.
Why it matters
Stage 2 is designed to make it easier for project proponents and their project teams, NSPs and AEMO to work from the same information throughout the connections process.

Security and access
Security, access control and traceability are core design principles of the Hub.
The Hub is being designed so users only have access to the information they are authorised to view or manage, with controls applied at organisation, project and file levels.
Further information on access arrangements, cyber security controls and supporting agreements will be provided ahead of implementation.
