About the Hub

A shared online environment for NEM connection projects

The Hub is being developed to provide proponents and their project teams, Network Service Providers (NSPs) and AEMO with a more connected, transparent and efficient way to manage NEM connection and Early Assessment Framework (EAF) projects.

As connection projects continue to increase in volume and complexity, the limitations of current ways of working are becoming more pronounced. Current processes can result in fragmented information, reduced visibility and increased administrative effort.

The Hub will provide a shared online environment and central source of project information, enabling stakeholders to access current documents, track project status and activities, and identify where information is under review.

What you’ll be able to do in the Hub

  • Access and maintain project information, queries and submissions through a shared system.
  • Track project progress, milestones and key activities.
  • Manage and resolve project queries more efficiently.
  • Exchange project files and supporting information securely.
  • Maintain visibility of decisions, actions and project history.

Who the Hub is for

The Hub is being developed for all stakeholders involved in new NEM connection projects, alterations and EAF projects including:

  • Connection proponents
  • NSPs
  • Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)
  • Consultants supporting connection projects
  • AEMO teams involved in the connections process

How the Hub will be delivered

The initiative will be delivered in two stages.

Stage 1: Solution Register

Planned go-live: February 2027

Provides a central system for managing and resolving technical and project queries, improving governance, traceability, and decision records, replacing the current Excel based issues tracker.

Stage 2: Project lifecycle management and file exchange

Planned go-live: Late 2027

Builds on Stage 1 by enabling project tracking, milestone visibility and secure exchange of documents, models and files.

Stakeholder feedback has helped shape the Hub

Industry feedback has shaped the Hub’s design, helping prioritise capabilities that enhance visibility, collaboration and project management including:

  • Improved visibility of query status, ownership, priority and outcomes.
  • Draft query functionality, allowing users to review and refine queries before publication.
  • Providing a way for AEMO and NSPs to align queries before they are published.
  • Portfolio level visibility and management access across multiple projects.
  • Organisation managed user access and permissions.
  • Secure management of sensitive project information and model data.

AEMO will continue to engage with stakeholders as design, testing, onboarding and training activities progress.
