Stage 1: Solution Register
The Solution Register (Stage 1) improves how project stakeholders manage and resolve technical and project queries by providing a shared online environment for collaboration through each stage of the connections process.
Used by project proponents and their project teams, NSPs and AEMO, it replaces the current spreadsheet-based approach with a more transparent and efficient way to manage queries, track progress, share information and maintain a clear record of decisions and outcomes.
What you'll be able to do
- Raise and track project queries in one place
Submit technical and project queries through a central online system and track progress through to resolution. - See the status and ownership of queries
Access up-to-date information on query ownership, current status, priority and recent activity. - Access supporting information when you need it
View files and supporting information for specific queries and responses. - Maintain a clear record of discussions and decisions
Track query history through time-stamped updates, responses and outcomes, creating a transparent record from submission to closure. - Find the information that matters most
Search, filter and view queries by project, stage, topic, priority or status, helping teams quickly identify and manage outstanding issues.
Why it matters
The Solution Register is designed to reduce the effort associated with managing project queries and provide a more consistent experience across connection projects.
- Less administration effort by reducing reliance on emails, spreadsheets and multiple information sources.
- Greater confidence that issues are progressing through clear workflows, ownership and responsibilities.
- A more consistent approach across projects, making query management and resolution easier to navigate.
- Better retention of project knowledge as project teams, ownership and responsibilities change over time
- Stronger governance and decision records to support project delivery and future reference.
- Improved oversight for organisations managing multiple projects, helping teams monitor activity, workload and emerging issues.
What happens next?
The Stage 1 design has been informed by stakeholder engagement and is now progressing through development. In the lead up to launch, AEMO will continue to work with stakeholders through:
- Solution Register previews and demonstrations
- User acceptance testing (UAT)
- Solution design and development progress
- Access and onboarding arrangements
- Training and support materials
