AEMO has made a Final Determination regarding the fee structures to apply to gas participant fees, and the Pipeline Capacity Trading Exchange Fees and Auction Fees, from 1 July 2021. Informed by stakeholder feedback and internal analysis, and having regard to the fee structure principles and National Gas Objective (NGO), AEMO has determined that it will make changes to the fee structures in several markets, whilst retaining many established fee structures.

The current structure came into effect on 1 July 2018 for Participant Fees and 1 March 2019 for Pipeline Capacity Trading (PCT) services. The fees for these services will expire on 30 June 2021.

AEMO is required to review and publish the structure and term of participant fees to apply from 1 July 2021, in accordance with the extended consultative procedure under the NGR, and in consultation with Registered participants, interested parties and such other persons as AEMO thinks appropriate.

The review considers the following AEMO markets and services:

  • Short Term Trading Market (STTM)
