Forecast Lack Of Reserve Level 2 (LOR2) in South Australia Region - 13, 14 and 16 Sep 2016
Refer to AEMO Market Notices: 54734, 54735 and 54864.
Forecast Lack Of Reserve Level 2 (LOR2) in South Australia Region for the following periods:
On 13/09/2016 from 0700 hrs to 1700 hrs;
On 14/09/2016 from 0700 hrs to 1700 hrs; and
On 16/09/2016 from 0700 hrs to 1700 hrs.
AEMO declares Forecast LOR2 conditions in the South Australia region for the above periods. During these periods, outages are scheduled for Moorabool to Mortlake No.2 500 kV transmission line in Victoria region.
On the occurrence of a credible contingency during these outages, South Australia region could separate from the rest of the NEM and is likely to result in interruptions to power supplies in South Australia.
There are sufficient capacity reserves in the South Australia region to meet electricity demand but following the next credible contingency it may not be possible to bring the required additional capacity into service in time to avoid automatic under-frequency load shedding causing interruptions to power supplies in South Australia.
