Review of spot prices in other NEM regions that have had actual flows towards South Australia

For the duration of the market suspension in South Australia, AEMO has reviewed prices in other regions as required by the National Electricity Rules.

Spot prices in other NEM regions that have had actual flow towards South Australia must be capped in accordance with clause 3.14.5(m).

AEMO has completed the review for suspended periods on 11/10/2016 and outlined the results at AEMO's website: http://www.aemo.com.au/Media-Centre/Prices-in-South-Australia

These prices will be updated in the Market and Settlement Systems as soon as practicable.

Resumption of Spot Market - South Australia - 11 October 2016

Update to Market Notice 55249

AEMO has been notified that the Ministerial direction issued on 29 September 2016 under the Essential Services Act 1981 (SA) to suspend the market in the South Australia region has been revoked.

AEMO is satisfied that there is no other reason to continue the suspension, and declares that the spot market operation in the South Australia region is to resume in accordance with chapter 3 of the National Electricity Rules at 2230 hrs on 11/10/16.

For the duration of the current market suspension in South Australia, AEMO continues to review prices in other regions as required by the National Electricity Rules.

Spot prices in other NEM regions that have had actual flow towards South Australia must be capped in accordance with clause 3.14.5(m).

AEMO has completed the review for suspended periods on 09/10/2016 and determined that no price revision is required in the other regions.
