At 0307 hrs at Heywood 500 kV terminal station, the South East No. 2 Line / M2 transformer 275 kV CB opened. The circuit breaker was closed at 0309 hrs placing the M2 transformer on load.

Based on updated information from AusNet Services, AEMO will not reclassify this event as a credible contingency event.

At 2003 hrs on 14/03/17 there was a single phase trip and auto-reclose of the Calvale - Halys No. 8810 and No. 8811 275 kV Transmission Lines.

AEMO did not instruct load shedding.

AEMO has not been advised of any disconnection of bulk electrical load.

There was lightning in the vicinity at the time of this event. AEMO will not be declaring these transmission lines as "vulnerable" because it was a single phase trip. Refer to AEMO procedure SO_OP_3715 for further information on lightning trips.

AEMO will not reclassify this event as a credible contingency event.

At 0554 hrs the Eildon Power Station to Mount Beauty Terminal Station No 2 220kV line tripped at the Mount Beauty end only. The line was manually placed on load at 0555 hrs.

AEMO did not instruct load shedding.
AEMO has not been advised of any disconnection of bulk electrical load.

The cause of this non credible contingency event has not been identified and AEMO is not satisfied that another occurrence of this event is unlikely under the current circumstances.

AEMO is reclassifying the trip of the Eildon Power Station to Mount Beauty Terminal Station No 2 220kV line at the Mount Beauty end only as a credible contingency event from 0555 hrs 21/02/2017.

H12 Mt England No. 1 275 kV Bus
Mt England - Wivenhoe PS No. 823 275 kV Line
Mt England - Tarong No. 837 275 kV Line

At approximately the same time (to be confirmed), Blackwall - Tarong No. 875 275 kV Line tripped. This line was placed back into service at 1710 hrs.

AEMO did not instruct load shedding.
AEMO has not been advised of any disconnection of bulk electrical load.
The cause of this non credible contingency event is not known at this stage.

At 0340 hrs at H12 Mt England the following lines have tripped and remain out of service,
the Wivenhoe PS 823 and 824 275 kV lines,
the South Pine 825 275 kV line, and
the Tarong 8812 275 kV line which tripped and has auto re-closed.

AEMO did not instruct load shedding.

AEMO has not been advised of any disconnection of bulk electrical load.

The cause of this non credible contingency event is not known at this stage.
