In addition to the non-credible contingency event at 0933 hrs (refer to market notice 56344), there was a further non-credible contingency event at 0939 hrs as described below.
At 0939 hrs the following generation tripped in the Tasmania region
Wilmot, Lemonthyme, Cethana, Devils Gate, Fisher and Rowallan
At approximately the same time there was approximately 170 MW of major industrial load reduction.
The cause of this non credible contingency event is not known at this stage.
AEMO did not instruct load shedding.

At 0933 hrs the Sheffield - George Town No. 1 and No. 2 220 kV Lines tripped simultaneously.
The cause of this non credible contingency event is not known at this stage.

At 0738 hrs the Eildon Mount Beauty No. 1 and No. 2 220 kV Lines tripped simultaneously. There is lightning occurring in the vicinity of these lines.
AEMO did not instruct load shedding.
AEMO has not been advised of any disconnection of bulk electrical load.

The cause of this non credible contingency event has been identified and AEMO is satisfied that another occurrence of this event is unlikely under the current circumstances.
AEMO will not reclassify this event as a credible contingency event.

At 0043 hrs the Basslink and Farrell - Shefield No. 1 220 kV line tripped simultaneously. This simultaneous trip is currently declared a credible contingency event - Refer to MN 47855
Farrell - Sheffield No1 220 kV line returned to service at 0047 hrs
Basslink returned to service at 0245 hrs
Constraint set I-BL_ZERO revoked at 0245 hrs.
The outage constraint set contains the following interconnector onthe left hand side.

Simultaneously with this event AEMO has observed a reduction in the electrical demand in the TAS region of approximately 390 MW due to SPS action.
AEMO did not instruct load shedding.

In accordance with clause 4.8.9 of the National Electricity Rules AEMO has issued a direction to a participant in the Victoria region.
The direction was necessary to re-establish the power system to a secure operating state,
The direction was issued at 1030 hrs and ceased at 1545hrs /1/2/16
