The AEMO QLD data center internet telecommunications service will experience an outage as part of an upgraded to this service.

The following impacts are expected to participant connectivity during this planned outage:

IPWAN Participants - IPWAN Participants - Nil

Lan-2-Lan VPN Participants - Upto 1 x 10 minutes to participants whom have established their VPN connection/s via the AEMO QLD datacenter termination point (202.44.76.10)
Note: Participants are encouraged to ensure their VPN connections are already established or are configured (as per AEMO best practice) to automatically failover to the alternate AEMO NSW datacenter termination point (202.44.78.10) prior to this scheduled outage.

Remote Access VPN Participants - Upto 1 x 10 minutes to participants who utilise an AEMO RSA token and the AEMO VPN client software to establish their VPN via the AEMO QLD datacenter VPN termination point (202.44.76.8)

Planned outage of Tailem Bend 275kV - South East 275kV No.1 line from 04/07/2016 0745 hrs to 12/07/2016 1730hrs

During these outage, South Australia region will remain connected to the NEM. However, there is a risk of South Australia region separating from the rest of the NEM following the next credible contingency (trip Tailem Bend 275kV - South East 275kV No.2 line).

AEMO will take all necessary steps as outlined in Section 6.1 of SO-OP-3715 Power System Security Guideline to manage the orderly separation of SA from the NEM following the next credible contingency.

Prior to the orderly separation of SA, the following FCAS regulation constraints will be invoked to manage security of South Australia power system.

Network Augmentation Commissioned in the Victoria Region

The Ararat Terminal Station (ARTS) was commissioned at 0203 hrs 29 June 2016. The ARTS substation has been cut into the former Horsham - Waubra 220kV Line to form two new transmission lines namely, Ararat - Horsham 220kV Line and Ararat - Waubra 220kV Line
