Inter-regional transfer limit variation - constraint automation to manage Power System Security in NSW region - 29/02/2024

In order to maintain the power system in a secure operating state in the NSW region, AEMO has invoked automated constraint set CA-BRIS_54F2ABFD_1 from 1610 hrs until further notice.

This constraint set contains equations with the following interconnector on the LHS;

The Actual LOR1 Condition in the NSW Region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No.115370 is cancelled at 1545 hrs 29/02/2024.

Actual Lack Of Reserve Level 1 (LOR1) in the NSW region - 29/02/2024

An Actual LOR1 condition has been declared under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the NSW region from 1500 hrs.
The Actual LOR1 condition is forecast to exist until 1830 hrs

The capacity reserve requirement is 1360 MW
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1066 MW

At 1425 hrs 28/02/2024 there was an unplanned outage of 275kV South Pine SVC.

Constraint set Q-SP_VC invoked from 1435 hrs.

The constraint set contains equations with the following interconnector on the LHS:

N-Q-MNSP1
NSW1-QLD1

Non-credible contingency event - QLD region - 28/02/2024

At 1029 hrs the Tully - Cardwell No.7389 132 kV Line tripped and auto reclosed and Ross - Woree No. 8905 275 kV Line tripped and auto reclosed.

AEMO did not instruct load shedding.

AEMO has not been advised of any disconnection of bulk electrical load.

The cause of this non credible contingency event is not known at this stage.

The capacity reserve requirement is 922 MW
The minimum capacity reserve available is 706 MW
