AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

Update - Inter-regional transfer limit variation for Transient Stability Limit Victoria Region Tuesday, 24 May 2016

The AEMO Dynamic Stability Analysis application is indicating violations for a fault on a Hazelwood - South Morang 500 kV transmission line in the Victoria region. The following constraints sets have been invoked to apply offset reductions to the Victoria transient stability export limit.

Constraint V-DSA_STAB-100 invoked from 0205 hrs to 0325 hrs.
Constraint V-DSA_STAB-050 invoked from 0325 hrs until further notice.


Constraints have the following interconnectors on the LHS

T-V-MNSP1
V-SA
V-S-MNSP1
VIC1-NSW1

To maintain power system security AEMO have applied a limit of 850 MVA to the F2 transformer in NEMDE. This limit has been removed.

This restriction on use of short term ratings for the F2 Transformer in the Victoria region is cancelled from 0002 hrs Tuesday 24th May

This restriction will affect the following interconnectors.

To maintain power system security AEMO has now applied a limit of 850 MVA to the F2 transformer in NEMDE. The applied limit may change according to power system conditions.

This restriction is expected to apply until approximately 2400 hrs, 23 May 2016.

This restriction will affect the following interconnectors.

AEMO has been advised by AusNet that due to prior loading conditions the South Morang F2 transformer pre contingent and post contingent loading must not exceed 1000 MVA.

To maintain power system security and in order to achieve this outcome AEMO has now applied a limit of 1000 MVA to the F2 Transformer in NEMDE.
