QNI Minor testing (NSW to Qld) 31st October 2023

There is an opportunity for testing QNI Minor for flows from NSW to Qld up to 750 MW on Tuesday 31st October from 1200 to 1700hrs.
This test includes a trip and reclose of a line in northern NSW.

Refer to AEMO Electricity Market Notice 110350.
At 2029 hrs 21/10/2023 the Waddamana - Tungatinah No.1 and No.2 110kV lines tripped and auto reclosed.
The cause of trip was identified as due to lightning.
In accordance with SO_OP_3715, AEMO now considers the Waddamana - Tungatinah No.1 and No.2 110kV lines to be vulnerable with a category of probable due to lightning.

An Actual LOR2 condition has been declared under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the SA region from 1930 hrs.
The Actual LOR2 condition is not forecast in Pre Dispatch
The capacity reserve required is 480 MW
The minimum reserve available is 465 MW
AEMO is seeking an immediate market response.
An insufficient market response may require AEMO to implement a AEMO intervention event.

2. if required, update the available capacity in their dispatch offers or availability submissions consistent with the forecast temperatures.
