AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE.

Direction - SA region 24/05/2024

In accordance with section 116 of the National Electricity Law, AEMO has issued a direction to a participant in the SA region. For the purposes of the National Electricity Rules this is a direction under clause 4.8.9(a).

The direction was necessary to maintain the power system in a secure operating state.

AEMO may issue or revoke additional directions in order to meet the current requirement, unless sufficient market response is provided. A further market notice will be issued when all directions related to this requirement have been cancelled.

The issue of the direction commences an AEMO intervention event. AEMO declares all trading intervals during the event to be intervention trading intervals, commencing from the interval ending 1605 hrs on 24/05/2024.

Intervention pricing does not apply to this AEMO intervention event.

Update - Possible intervention to manage power system security in SA region

Refer AEMO Electricity Market Notice 116794

The synchronous generating units currently expected to be synchronised in SA from 1000 hrs 25/05/2024 will be inadequate to maintain a secure operating state in SA .

AEMO estimates that, in the absence of sufficient market response by 1600 hrs 24/05/2024, AEMO may need to intervene by issuing a direction requiring one or more SA synchronous generating unit(s) to operate or remain synchronised to maintain power system security in SA.

The Actual LOR1 Condition in the NSW Region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No.116730 is cancelled at 1910 hrs 20/05/2024.

Actual Lack Of Reserve Level 1 (LOR1) in the NSW region - 20/05/2024

An Actual LOR1 condition has been declared under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the NSW region from 1700 hrs.
The Actual LOR1 condition is forecast to exist until 1930 hrs

The capacity reserve requirement is 1630 MW
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1028 MW

Participant Impact and Requirements: AEMO's FRC Gas Hub web services need to have their server certificates updated every year with new certificates to replace the xpiring one.

Participants connecting to these endpoints or receiving requests from AEMO's FRC Gas Hub platforms and have authorisation mechanisms like certificate fingerprinting in place will notice a change in AEMO's server's certificate fingerprint and will need to update their systems accordingly.

The certificate relates to "FBS-Test-Hub.aemo.com.au" certificate and relates to the following domains.
FBS-Test-Hub.aemo.com.au
apis.preprod.aemo.com.au
preprodhub.aemo.com.au
preprod.frchub.net
apis.preprod.marketnet.net.au
preprodhub.marketnet.net.au

Participants WILL need to update the profile that communicates with the above domains.

This will need to be done to avoid the inability to send messages to the relay.
