AEMO's weather service provider has issued forecast temperatures for Queensland region that are equal to or greater than the Generation Capacity Reference Temperatures:

On 03/02/2020: Maximum forecast temperature 37 degrees C at Archerfield for the Brisbane area.

Further updates to this advice may not be provided.

AEMO requests Market Participants to:

1. review the weather forecast in the local area where their generating plants are located and,

2. if required, update the generation levels in their dispatch offers consistent with the forecast temperatures.

AEMO has determined that the rolling sum of the uncapped market ancillary Lower 60 Sec, Lower 6 Sec, Raise 6 Sec services(s) prices for the SA region over the previous 2016 dispatch intervals has exceeded 6 times the cumulative price threshold (CPT) of $221,100.00.

In accordance with Clause 3.14 of the National Electricity Rules, AEMO has determined that an administered price period will commence at the dispatch interval starting 0400 hrs on 3 Feb 2020 and will continue through to the end of that trading day.

An administered price cap (APC) of 300 $/MWh will apply to all dispatch intervals during this administered price period. This APC will apply to all market ancillary service prices in the SA region.

An administered floor price (AFP) of 0 $/MWh AFP will apply to all market ancillary service prices.

The synchronous generating units expected to be synchronised in SA from 1500 hrs 03/02/20 to 0400 hrs 04/02/20 (End of Pre-Dispatch Period) in Pre-dispatch published at 2000 hrs 02/02/20 are inadequate to maintain sufficient system strength in SA and hence a secure operating state.
