Reduction in load relief in Tasmanian region - 3rd February 2021
Further to MN 80127 and 82217, on 3rd February at 1000hrs AEMO will reduce the load relief used to determine FCAS requirements from 0.6% to 0.5% for the Tasmanian region. This will increase the amount of contingency FCAS enabled by AEMO in the Tasmanian region.
This change is a part of AEMO's review of frequency in the NEM. The Tasmanian load relief has been reduced by 0.1% on a fortnightly basis from the current 1.0%. From 0.5% it will be reduced by 0.1% every four weeks. Details were provided to market participants in an industry teleconference on 4th December 2020. For more information refer to: https://www.aemo.com.au/energy-systems/electricity/national-electricity-market-nem/system-operations/ancillary-services/load-relief
There will be no change at this stage to the Mainland load relief.
The next change is planned for 3rd March 2021.
