AEMO is not satisfied that this non credible event is unlikely to re-occur.
AEMO has therefore reclassified this event as a credible contingency event until further notice.

Elements: The No. 1 and No. 2 275 kV Static Var Compensator (SVC) at South East Substation.

At 1134 hrs the No. 1 and No. 2 275 kV Static Var Compensator (SVC) at South East Substation tripped.

AEMO did not instruct load shedding.

AEMO has not been advised of any disconnection of bulk electrical load.

The cause of this non credible contingency event is not known at this stage.

AEMO is aware of todays earthquake at 0915 hrs.

There has been no major loss of generation in the NEM.

There has been no major impact on transmission other than the non-credible event referenced in market notice(s) 90937 and 90939 and the trip of the Mount Beauty to Mackay tee Bogong 220 kV transmission line which remains out of service.

AEMO is continuing to monitor the situation in regard to aftershocks.
