Expressions of Interest and Tender to provide Network Support and Control Ancillary Services 2024

UPDATE 23 JUNE 2025: This 2024 EOI and tender process for the procurement of NSCAS services identified under this EOI is now complete.

AEMO has published a notice under clause 3.11.3(c)(3) of the National Electricity Rules (Rules), confirming that a Network Support and Control Ancillary Services (NSCAS) gap remains in South Australia. For the reasons described in that notice, AEMO considers, for the purposes of clause 3.11.3(c)(1) of the Rules, that there will be a remaining NSCAS gap in South Australia from now until mid-2026.  AEMO is therefore required to use reasonable endeavours to acquire sufficient NSCAS to meet this gap in accordance with clause 3.11.5 of the Rules and the NSCAS Tender Guidelines here.

Under clause 3.11.5(a) of the Rules and the NSCAS Tender Guidelines, AEMO must first call for Expressions of Interest from potential providers, before issuing an NSCAS Invitation to Tender.

AEMO seeks expressions of interest from persons who are in a position to provide NSCAS in the form of voltage control services to meet the remaining NSCAS gap.

Expressions of interest are requested to be submitted to AEMO by 5:00 pm AEST on 2 August 2024 (EOI closing date).

If potential providers find any discrepancy or error in, or have any doubt as to the meaning or completeness or require clarification of any aspect of expression of interest, they should notify AEMO in writing via the procurement@aemo.com.au email address, not less than 5 days before the EOI closing date.

AEMO may issue an addendum clarifying the discrepancy, error, doubt, or query (as the case may be) which will be published on this webpage.
