Mark Ellul

Mark brings more than 25 years of experience in finance, strategy, and corporate leadership across the energy, telecommunications and professional services sectors.

He was appointed to his current position as Executive General Manager (EGM) Finance and Governance in September 2026, after acting as interim EGM of Finance since March 2026.

Prior to joining AEMO, Mark served as the Chief Financial Officer at AusNet where he led major strategic, investment, capital management and business transformation initiatives.

Throughout his career he has also held senior roles with Telstra and KPMG. Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and is a Chartered Accountant. He is also a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
