Direction - SA region to AGL SA Generation Pty Limited - TORRB2 TORRENS ISLAN

In accordance with section 116 of the National Electricity Law, AEMO is issuing a direction to AGL SA Generation Pty Limited. For the purposes of the National Electricity Rules this is a direction under clause 4.8.9(a1)(1).

Type of resource: generating unit
Required actions: Remain synchronised and follow dispatch targets at 0900 hrs 03/08/2025
Services provided: Voltage Control
Circumstances necessitating the Direction: Voltage
Circumstances necessitating the Direction additional detail: The synchronous generating units currently expected to be synchronised in SA will be inadequate to maintain sufficient Voltage Control in SA. Intervention is required to maintain the power system in a secure operating state
Expected duration: 0400 hrs 04/08/2025.

AGL SA Generation Pty Limited does not incur any civil monetary liability for a relevant action taken in accordance with this direction unless the action is taken in bad faith.

Direction - SA region 02/08/2025

In accordance with section 116 of the National Electricity Law, AEMO has issued a direction to a participant in the SA region. For the purposes of the National Electricity Rules this is a direction under clause 4.8.9(a1)(1).

The issue of the direction commences an AEMO intervention event. AEMO declares all trading intervals during the event to be intervention trading intervals, commencing from the interval ending 1605 hrs on 02/08/2025.

Intervention pricing does not apply to this AEMO intervention event.

AEMO may issue or revoke additional directions in order to meet the current requirement, unless sufficient market response is provided. A further market notice will be issued when all directions related to this requirement have been cancelled.

Update - Foreseeable AEMO intervention in SA region

Refer AEMO Electricity Market Notice 128421

AEMO has identified a foreseeable circumstance that may require an AEMO intervention event in the SA region from 0900 hrs 03/08/2025.

The foreseeable circumstance requiring the need for intervention is Voltage.

AEMO estimates that, in the absence of sufficient market response by 1600 hrs 02/08/2025, AEMO may need to intervene by issuing a direction.

AEMO has identified a foreseeable circumstance that may require an AEMO intervention event in the SA region from 0900 hrs 03/08/2025.

The foreseeable circumstance requiring the need for intervention is Voltage.

The Gas B2B hub servers will be updated to support TLS (Transport Layer Security) 1.3 version. Also the legacy versions 1.0 and 1.1 will be disabled and not be supported going forward. Participants are required to use TLS 1.2 as a minimum protocol to communicate with AEMO, failing to do so will impact the connectivity.

An outage is not expected but, there may be some minor interruptions during the change period. Participants are required to make sure the connectivity is intact post change implementation. In case of any issues noticed, please reach out to AEMO Support Hub.

- All access to the PreProduction Electricity B2B Hub will be unavailable.
- All access to the PreProduction Gas FRC Hub and all ebXML gateways (AEMOMIBB, AGNLGWY, LVI & VENCORP) will be unavailable. CATS and MDMT transactions for VIC/QLD will be delayed during the maintenance window.
- Users are not required to take any action due to this change, however will need to enact manual workarounds for the outage period.
