AEMO executive update

AEMO today announced that the Executive General Manager, Western Australia & Strategy, Kate Ryan, has resigned.

Kate joined AEMO in February 2022. During her time in the role, AEMO has delivered consistent performance in our WA operations as well as progressing significant reforms to support the energy transition.

Key highlights under Kate’s leadership have included delivering WEM reform, Project Symphony and enabling record levels of new investment in the South West Interconnected System.

In making the announcement, AEMO CEO Daniel Westerman thanked Kate for her leadership, drive and dedication.

“AEMO has delivered significant reforms to support the energy transition in Western Australia under Kate’s leadership,” Mr Westerman said.

“Kate has been a valued member of the AEMO leadership and has also made a significant contribution to strengthening our strategy function across the organisation. We wish Kate every success in her next endeavours,” he said.

On an interim basis, Nicola Falcon will lead AEMO’s WA Division, while a recruitment process is underway.

Kate’s last day with AEMO will be Friday 20 September 2024.
