WEM Electricity Statement of Opportunities Forecasting Reference Group (WEM ESOO FRG)

AEMO hosted two Forecasting Reference Group (FRG) forums to support the development of the 2026 WEM Electricity Statement of Opportunities (WEM ESOO).

The forums facilitated constructive discussion on matters relating to electricity forecasting and market modelling. They provided an opportunity to validate assumptions, share expertise and explore new approaches to addressing the challenges of forecasting in a rapidly changing energy industry. The forums aimed to improve the collective insights, understanding and forecasting outcomes that informed the WEM ESOO published in June.

The FRG is not a decision-making body.
