AEMO established the Market Visibility Framework (MVF) Stakeholder Advisory Panel in May 2026 to support the design of a mandatory framework for price responsive resource visibility in the National Electricity Market (NEM).
The role of the advisory panel is to support AEMO co-design the framework, including strategic advice and testing of AEMO’s proposed design and implementation approach. The group’s feedback and input will help AEMO shape its recommendations on framework design, which AEMO will present to Energy Ministers in December 2026.
Terms of reference
The group’s terms of reference are detailed in the Appendix A of the first set of meeting papers.
Membership
The MVF Stakeholder Advisory Group is Chaired by AEMO.
The group consists of stakeholders with relevant technical or policy experience representing market participants, consumers industry experts and service providers.
Additional representatives from government (DCCEEW) and market bodies (AEMC, AER, ARENA) may participate as observers.
AEMO will appoint members based on their relevant expertise in CER integration, demand response, management of large loads, as well as their experience engaging on relevant and interrelated reforms. To ensure the group can advise on issues that emerge through the co-design process, AEMO may change the group’s membership.
