AEMO is continuing its consultation conducted on Retail Procedures (Wholesale Demand Response) changes. AEMO has published a Draft Report to consult on proposed amendments. The publication of this Draft Report marks the commencement of the second stage of consultation. 

Submissions should be forwarded to AEMO by COB Tuesday 2 February 2021.

Under the Wholesale Demand Response Mechanism (WDRM), from October 2021, consumers will be able to sell demand response in the wholesale market. The WDRM Rule introduces a new market participant category, the Demand Response Service Provider (DRSP).

AEMO has prepared an Issues Paper to facilitate informed discussion and seek input from interested parties on the delivery of proposed changes to enable the Wholesale Demand Response in the National Electricity Market.   Further details are provided in the Issues Paper published with this notice. A consultation draft of the following procedures is published with the Issues Paper:
