This is to inform all Registered Participants that the test program for the Project EnergyConnect (PEC) Stage 2 which deals with inter-network tests is now finalised. The test program outlines the proposed hold points and tests to occur to validate the increased power transfer capability of PEC Stage 2.
Submissions
All submissions on the draft test program are now closed. AEMO received one valid submission during the consultation period. In accordance with National Electricity Rules (NER) 5.7.7(p)(3), AEMO also provided a copy of the valid submission to jurisdictional planning representatives and sought any further recommendations. No further recommendations were received from the jurisdictional planning representatives.
The consultation summary report outlines the feedback received through the valid submission and how AEMO considered that feedback, as well as background to other changes made by AEMO, in determining the test program in accordance with NER 5.7.7(q).
Next Steps
At the time of preparing the test program, inter-network testing is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, following the fulfilment of all pre-requisites outlined in the test program.
AEMO will provide updates on testing in accordance with the communication arrangements outlined in the test program.
