Regulatory Investment Test – Transmission - June 2025
In November 2022, AusNet and United Energy jointly completed a RIT-T consultation on augmentation of the transmission connection assets at CBTS. Given some of the inputs were materially changed, AusNet Services and United Energy have reopened that Regulatory Investment Test for Transmission (RIT-T) to evaluate options to maintain supply reliability in the Cranbourne area.
This project assessment draft report (PADR) is stage two of the new Cranbourne Supply Area RIT-T consultation process. In October 2024, AusNet and United Energy published the project specification consultation report (PSCR). During the PSCR consultation period, no non-network proposals or submissions were received from interested stakeholders. Therefore, AusNet and United Energy have now prepared this PADR in accordance with clause 5.16 of the NER1 and section 4.3 of the RIT-T Application Guidelines. This report contains the assessment results of the credible options, providing draft conclusions on the proposed preferred option for addressing the identified need in the Cranbourne supply area.
AusNet Services and United Energy welcome written submissions on the matters set out in this PADR. All submissions should be titled ‘Cranbourne Terminal Station RIT-T’ and directed to both dasun.desilva@ausnetservices.com.au and ricrobson@powercor.com.au on or before 18 July 2025.
