On 14 January 2020 ElectraNet published a Project Assessment Conclusions Report (PACR) that confirms the preferred option is to replace the identified end-of-life AC Boards and associated assets to manage the risk of failure.

ElectraNet has published a Project Specification Consultation Report (PSCR) for the Managing the Risk of AC Board Failure Project under the Regulatory Investment Test for Transmission (RIT-T), as required by the National Electricity Rules clause 5.16.
The PSCR is the first stage of the RIT-T process. The report determined that there was only one technically and economically feasible option which is to replace selected AC Boards and associated assets on the network.
ElectraNet has identified approximately 24 AC Boards and associated assets for replacement. The replacement of the AC Boards will improve safety within substations and minimise any consequential effects on downstream customers associated with the failure of these assets.
