Amendment of trigger thresholds in the automated procedures for identifying intervals subject to review consultation 

Timeline

AEMO is conducting a consultation on the automated procedures for identifying intervals subject to review. This consultation is being conducted under clause 3.9.2B(h) of the National Electricity Rules (NER).

The matter for consultation is to revise trigger thresholds in the automated procedures for identifying whether a trading interval is subject to review. The proposed trigger thresholds are for:

• Flows on the QNI and VIC1-NSW1 interconnectors.
• Flows on the NSW1-SA1 (Project EnergyConnect) interconnector, once it is implemented in AEMO’s dispatch systems in late October/November 2026.
• Price threshold parameter ‘X’ for all regions.
• FCAS enablement thresholds for all FCAS services.
• Temporary thresholds to manage abnormal system conditions.
