Matter under consultation

Where the Integrated System Plan (ISP) identifies an actionable ISP project, the National Electricity Rules (NER) require AEMO to conduct consultation on non-network options to meet the identified need. With the publication of the 2026 ISP, AEMO is calling for non-network options for the Tasmania REZ Expansion.

The Notice of Consultation linked below includes:

• the identified need that the Tasmania REZ Expansion (including any non-network option) is addressing;
• detail on the required technical characteristics that non-network options must meet for the Tasmania REZ Expansion; and
• a list of the types of information required from proponents of any non-network options.

Proposals should be sent in PDF format to [email protected] by 6:00 pm (AEST) on Thursday, 17 September 2026. Please identify any parts of your submission that you wish to remain confidential, and explain why. AEMO may still publish that information if it does not consider it to be confidential, but will consult with you before doing so.

Copies of all submissions received by AEMO will be provided to TasNetworks as the RIT-T proponent for this actionable ISP project. RIT-T proponents are required to consider any new credible non-network options that meet the identified need, but were not previously considered in the ISP, including options submitted in response to the Notice.
