AEMO is consulting on the determination of the structure of participant fees in accordance with clause 135CA of the National Gas Rules, for the next fee period commencing 1 July 2027.
This consultation only applies to the structure of fees. The actual amount charged for each fee will be determined on an annual basis through AEMO’s budget and fees process. Included in the consultation scope are the following AEMO functions: Declared Wholesale Gas Market (DWGM), Short Term Trading Market (STTM), Retail gas markets (VIC, NSW/ACT, QLD. SA), Gas Bulletin Board (GBB), Gas Statement of Opportunities (GSOO), Energy Consumers Australia (ECA), Pipeline Capacity Trading and auction services and East Coast Gas System (ECGS) Reliability.
The consultation paper is open for public consultation from Wednesday 19 August 2026, with submissions closing by 5.00pm (AEST) on Wednesday 9 September 2026.
