Fast Frequency Response Market - Local dispatch of Very Fast Contingency FCAS in QLD
Following a review of the operation of the Very Fast FCAS market, from 27th Jan 2026 AEMO will increase the cap on dispatch of Very Fast Contingency FCAS in the QLD region from 20 MW to 100 MW, during periods where islanding of the QLD region is considered credible.
No other changes to the dispatch of Very Fast FCAS or FCAS constraint equations will be made on this date.

STPASA - Update of the Forecast Lack Of Reserve Level 2 (LOR2) in the QLD Region on 16/01/2026
The Forecast LOR2 condition in the QLD region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 132790 has been updated to the following:
[1.] From 1500 hrs 16/01/2026 to 1530 hrs 16/01/2026.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 770 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 593 MW.
[2.] From 1600 hrs 16/01/2026 to 2030 hrs 16/01/2026.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 775 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 565 MW.
AEMO is seeking a market response.
AEMO has not yet estimated the latest time at which it would need to intervene through an AEMO intervention event.

AEMO declares a Forecast LOR2 condition under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the QLD region for the following period:
From 1530 hrs to 1800 hrs 16/01/2026.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 779 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 707 MW.
AEMO is seeking a market response.
AEMO has not yet estimated the latest time it would need to intervene through an AEMO intervention event.
