Forecast Minimum System Load MSL2 condition in the SA Region on 04/04/2026

AEMO has detected that there is an elevated risk of insufficient demand to maintain a secure operating state in the SA region on 04/04/2026.

Minimum System Load (MSL) conditions are forecast when demand is less than the relevant MSL threshold. The advisory MSL thresholds are:
- MSL1: 34 MW
- MSL2: -117 MW
- MSL3: -468 MW

The demand is forecast to be below the MSL2 threshold for the following period[s]:
- From 1300 hrs 04/04/2026 to 1330 hrs 04/04/2026. Minimum demand is forecast to be -122 MW at 1330 hrs.

Forecast demand refers to forecast Operational Demand that excludes contribution from Significant Non-Scheduled Generation: see definitions at https://aemo.com.au/energy-systems/electricity/national-electricity-market-nem/data-nem/operational-demand-data .

AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

AEMO declares a Forecast LOR1 condition under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the SA region for the following Periods:


[1.] From 1830 hrs 30/03/2026 to 1900 hrs 30/03/2026.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 464 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 337 MW.


[2.] From 1930 hrs 30/03/2026 to 2000 hrs 30/03/2026.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 464 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 340 MW.


[3.] From 2030 hrs 30/03/2026 to 2100 hrs 30/03/2026.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 422 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 356 MW.
