AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

Direction - SA region 24/05/2026

In accordance with section 116 of the National Electricity Law, AEMO has issued a direction to a participant in the SA region. For the purposes of the National Electricity Rules this is a direction under clause 4.8.9(a1)(1).

The issue of the direction commences an AEMO intervention event. AEMO declares all trading intervals during the event to be intervention trading intervals, commencing from the interval ending 0405 hrs on 24/05/2026.

Intervention pricing does not apply to this AEMO intervention event.

AEMO may issue or revoke additional directions in order to meet the current requirement, unless sufficient market response is provided. A further market notice will be issued when all directions related to this requirement have been cancelled.

In accordance with section 116 of the National Electricity Law, AEMO is issuing a direction to AGL SA Generation Pty Limited. For the purposes of the National Electricity Rules this is a direction under clause 4.8.9(a1)(1).

Direction issued to: AGL SA Generation Pty Limited - Barker Inlet Power Station at 0400 hrs 24/05/2026
Type of resource: generating unit
Required actions: Synchronise and follow dispatch targets at 0405 hrs 24/05/2026
Services provided: Voltage Control
Circumstances necessitating the Direction:Voltage
Circumstances necessitating the Direction additional detail: The synchronous generating units currently expected to be synchronised in SA will be inadequate to maintain sufficient Voltage Control in SA. Intervention is required to maintain the power system in a secure operating state.
Expected duration: Until further notice.

AGL SA Generation Pty Limited does not incur any civil monetary liability for a relevant action taken in accordance with this direction unless the action is taken in bad faith.

Cancellation - Direction - Qld region - 23/05/2026

The requirement for AEMO to issue a direction to maintain the power system in a secure operating state has ended. All associated directions are cancelled from 1430 hrs on 23/05/2026.

Direction - Qld region 23/05/2026

In accordance with section 116 of the National Electricity Law, AEMO has issued a direction to a participant in the Qld region.

The direction was necessary to maintain the power system in a secure operating state.

AEMO may issue or revoke additional directions in order to meet the current requirement, unless sufficient market response is provided.

A further market notice will be issued when all directions related to this requirement have been cancelled.

For the purposes of the National Electricity Rules this was a clause 4.8.9 instruction under clause 4.8.9(a).
