AEMO did not instruct load shedding.

AEMO estimates approximately 6MW of electrical load has been disconnected.

The cause of this non credible contingency event is not known at this stage.

The cause of this non credible contingency event has been identified and AEMO is satisfied that another occurrence of this event is unlikely under the current circumstances.

AEMO will not reclassify this event as a credible contingency event.

At 1506 hrs the JLysaght - Tyabb 1 220kV Line and the JLysaght - Tyabb 2 220kV Line tripped.

AEMO did not instruct load shedding.

AEMO has been advised of disconnection of 16 MWs of bulk electrical load.

The cause of this non credible contingency event has been identified and AEMO is satisfied that another occurrence of this event is unlikely under the current circumstances.

AEMO will not reclassify this event as a credible contingency event.

Refer AEMO Electricity Market Notice 141053

At 1357 hrs 11/04/2026 the Farrell -Tribute 220 kV line, Farrell - John Butters 220kV Line and the Farrell - Mackintosh 110kV Line tripped. These lines have been returned to service.

The cause of the trip was identified as due to lightning

There is no longer any lightning activity in the vicinity of the following lines. Accordingly its classification has reverted to a non-credible contingency event.

AEMO considers the simultaneous trip of the following circuits is no longer reasonably possible.

Region: TAS1

Lines: Farrell -Tribute 220 kV line, Farrell - John Butters 220kV Line and the Farrell - Mackintosh 110kV lines

Cancellation time: 13/04/2026 20:25

Constraint set(s) revoked: T-JB_MC_TI_250, F-T-JB_MC_TI_N-2

The following interconnector(s) are on the left hand side: T-V-MNSP1

AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE.

Non-credible contingency event - TAS region - 10/04/2026

At 1646 hrs the Farrell - Reece No.1 220 kV and Farrell - Reece No.2 220 kV lines tripped.

AEMO did not instruct load shedding.

AEMO has not been advised of any disconnection of bulk electrical load.

The cause of the trip was identified as due to lightning.

In accordance with SO_OP_3715, the Farrell - Reece No.1 and No.2 220 kV lines are considered vulnerable with a category of probable due to lightning.

At the time of the trip, Farrell - Reece No.1 220 kV and Farrell - Reece No.2 220 kV lines were not reclassified due to lightning.

AEMO considers the simultaneous trip of the following circuits to now be more likely and reasonably possible. Accordingly AEMO has reclassified it as a credible contingency event from 16:50 hrs until further notice.

PDPASA - Forecast Lack Of Reserve Level 2 (LOR2) in the SA Region on 30/03/2026

AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

AEMO declares a Forecast LOR2 condition under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the SA region for the following Periods:


[1.] From 1800 hrs 30/03/2026 to 1830 hrs 30/03/2026.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 318 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 286 MW.


[2.] From 1900 hrs 30/03/2026 to 1930 hrs 30/03/2026.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 311 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 295 MW.


[3.] From 2000 hrs 30/03/2026 to 2030 hrs 30/03/2026.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 308 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 301 MW.


AEMO is seeking a market response.

AEMO has not yet estimated the latest time at which it would need to intervene through an AEMO intervention event.
