The additional time supports completion of remaining production readiness activities, participant onboarding, connectivity validation and industry preparation activities. AEMO will continue to provide updates through established NEM Reform communication channels as implementation activities progress.

Participants should continue progressing BPQD readiness activities, including:

• Completing onboarding and connectivity activities.
• Continuing testing and validation activities where applicable.
• Reviewing implementation and operational support materials.
• Monitoring communications regarding the implementation approach and key readiness milestones.

The revised implementation timeline provides additional opportunity for participants to complete readiness activities and support a smooth transition to production.

AEMO recognises that participants may have questions regarding compliance obligations associated with the revised implementation timeline.

Participants remain responsible for understanding and meeting their obligations under the National Electricity Rules and associated procedures. Participants seeking guidance on compliance matters should engage directly with the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) as appropriate.

AEMO will continue to provide implementation, operational and readiness support to assist participants in preparing for BPQD implementation.

Participants are encouraged to continue progressing readiness activities, including:

• Testing and validation activities.
• Production onboarding and connectivity activities.
• Certificate and security configuration.
• Internal operational preparedness and business process readiness.

The additional implementation period should be used to complete remaining readiness activities and ensure participants are well prepared for implementation on 31 August 2026.
