At 1324 hrs the Moorabool - Mortlake 500 kV Line and the Moorabool - Haunted Gully 500 kV Line tripped resulting in South Australia separating from Victoria.
These transmission lines are currently scheduled to return to service at 1700 hrs 14/02/20. Please refer to AEMO Network Outage Scheduler (NOS) for details.

The cause of this non-credible contingency event has been identified and AEMO is satisfied that another occurrence of this event is unlikely under the current circumstances.
AEMO will not reclassify this event as a credible contingency event.

AEMO has therefore reclassified this event as a credible contingency event until further notice.

At 0020 hrs in Far North Qld the Chalumbin - Ross (857) 275 kV line and the Chalumbin - Ross (858) 275 kV line opened and auto reclosed due to lightning.
The Edmonton - Innisfail (7139) 132kV line and the Tully - Woree (7301) 132 kV line opened and auto reclosed by design
The Mt Emerald - Walkamin (8903) 275 kV line opened by design.
The cause of this non credible contingency event has been identified as lightning
AEMO is not satisfied that this non credible event is unlikely to re-occur.
AEMO has therefore reclassified the trip of Chalumbin - Ross (857) 275 kV line and the Chalumbin - Ross (858) 275 kV line event as a credible contingency event due to lightning.
