Market reporting for forecast extreme temperature in the Queensland region on 16/12/2019 and elevated temperatures in Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales regions
AEMO's weather service provider has issued forecast temperatures for Queensland region that are equal to or greater than the Generation Capacity Reference Temperatures:
On 16/12/2019: Maximum forecast temperature 38 degrees C at Archerfield for the Brisbane area.
Also, note that elevated temperatures are forecast in some locations within the Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales regions from 16/12/2019 to 18/12/2019.
Further updates to this advice may not be provided.
AEMO requests Market Participants to:
1. review the weather forecast in the local area where their generating plants are located and,
2. if required, update the generation levels in their dispatch offers consistent with the forecast temperatures.

Reduction in load relief for mainland regions - 3rd December 2019
Refer to market notices 69914, 70206, 70441, 70645, 70930 and 71287.
On 5th December at 1100hrs AEMO will reduce the load relief used in the FCAS constraint equations from 0.9% to 0.8% for all mainland regions. This will increase the amount of contingency FCAS enabled by AEMO.
This change is a part of AEMO's review of frequency in the NEM. The mainland load relief will be slowly reduced. Details were provided to market participants in an industry teleconference on 16 August 2019 and an update published on AEMO's website on 19th November. There will be no change at this stage to the Tasmanian load relief.

On Fri 06/12/2019: Maximum forecast temperature 38 degrees C at Archerfield for the Brisbane area
Also, note that elevated temperatures are forecast in Queensland on Wed 04/12/2019 and Sat 07/12/2019.

Non-credible contingency event more likely to occur due to existence of abnormal conditions Vic region.
AEMO has identified that a non-credible contingency event is more likely to occur because of the existence of abnormal conditions namely bushfires and damaging winds for the following districts in the Vic region.
Mallee and Northern Country - Code red fire danger.
Wimmera - Severe fire danger.
Central, Northern Country, North Central, West and south Gippsland, Wimmera and parts of east Gippsland, Mallee, South West and North East - Severe Weather for damaging winds.
As at the time of this notice the criteria for reclassification of any non-credible contingency event have not been met, however there is a possibility of bushfires or severe weather impacting multiple transmission elements in its vicinity.
Conditions can change rapidly and potentially impacted plant may change. Further notices will only be published to advise of any reclassification, or when the abnormal conditions have ceased to impact the likelihood of a non-credible event occurring.
