Gas facility forecast utilisation

Daily report with a 7-day outlook for gas pipelines, storage facilities and production facilities. This reported is produced on each day (D) for days D+1 to D+7. For each facility and corresponding nameplate capacity the following information is reported  

  1. The capacity available using information from the short term capacity outlook submissions  
  2. The capacity factor, being the capacity available divided by the corresponding nameplate capacity  
  3. The forecast flow (or storage level) using the latest nomination information  
  4. The forecast utilisation, being the forecast flow divided by the capacity available  

In addition to this facility information the following information is also reported  

  1. Net injections and withdrawals for each gas pipeline for each day
  2. Net injections and withdrawals for each state for each day
  3. Net injections and withdrawals for each state and gas pipeline for each day (for those pipelines that move gas between states).

  • Nameplate capacity

    A nameplate capacity reflects the maximum capability of a facility under a set of normal operating conditions. Facilities can have one or more nameplate capacity:

    • Production facilities have one nameplate capacity reflecting the maximum capacity of the facility under normal operating conditions
    • Storage facilities have three nameplate capacity types
      • Storage level – the maximum amount of gas that can be stored in the facility
      • Receipt capacity – the maximum amount of gas that can be received into the facility on a day
      • Delivery capacity – the maximum amount of gas that the facility can deliver on a day
    • Pipelines will have one or more nameplate capacities, representing the various flow directions or segments of a pipeline. Each of these segments is defined by two connection points on the pipeline
      • Receipt location
      • Delivery location
  • Pipeline flows

    For the pipeline forecast flow, a best-fit calculation has been assigned to each nameplate capacity of the pipeline (combination of receipt location and delivery location).  The following calculations (defined as Forecast Method in the report) have been used for the relevant nameplate capacity direction 

    • Sum of delivery points – a summation of all connection point nomination flows where the connection point is of type ‘delivery’ 
    • Delivery location node – calculates the positive net deliveries at the node of the connection point that is corresponding to the delivery location in the relevant nameplate capacity for that facility 
    • Receipt location node – calculates the positive net receipts at the node of the connection point that is corresponding to the receipt location in the relevant nameplate capacity for that facility
    • Delivery location aggregated – calculates the positive net deliveries at the location on the facility. The Location is that of the connection point corresponding to the delivery location in the relevant nameplate capacity for that facility
    • Receipt location aggregated – calculates the positive net receipts at the location on the facility. The Location is that of the connection point corresponding to the receipt location in the relevant nameplate capacity for that facility
