      • AEMO operates gas retail markets in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, and Western Australia. AEMO also operates wholesale gas markets in south-eastern Australia, those being the Declared Wholesale Gas Market in Victoria (DWGM), the Short Term Trading Market in Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney (STTM), and the Gas Supply Hub (GSH), whose trading locations are based at Wallumbilla in Queensland, and Moomba in South Australia. AEMO also operates the Natural Gas Services Bulletin Board (GBB), and is system operator of the Victorian Gas Declared Transmission System. AEMO is also responsible for Gas Services Information functions in Western Australia.

      Consultations
  • Authorised Maximum Daily Quantity (AMDQ) and AMDQ Credit Certificates (AMDQ CC) are transportation rights in the Declared Transmission System (DTS) collectively known as AMDQ. Authorised MDQ is a withdrawal right for customers and/or Market Participants on the DTS for transported gas injected at Longford. 

    According to National Gas Rules clauses 330 (6) and 331(1) AEMO must make procedures to set guidelines to assist the industry to manage AMDQ.

    Matter Under Consultation :

    This consultation is about the following changes to the Wholesale Market AMDQ Procedures;

    • APA’s request for validation of firm capacity holdings and loss of firm capacity.
    • Requirement for accreditation as a pre-requisite.
    • A single priority queue for AMDQ transfers and AMDQ CC nominations.
    • Consolidation of the current Wholesale Market AMDQ Transfer Procedures, Wholesale Market
