In addition to the South Australian Energy Transformation Project Specification Consultation Report (PSCR) published in November, ElectraNet has released a Market Modelling Approach and Assumptions Report for consultation.

With the energy industry in the midst of a period of change and uncertainty, network investment decisions need evaluation approaches that recognise the less predictable factors and outcomes that are possible over the assessment timeframe.

To address this and ensure the processes used to evaluate network and non-network options are as robust as possible, ElectraNet is consulting with the market on its proposed approach.

The Market Modelling Approach and Assumptions Report outlines an overall phased approach, the key variables that are expected to influence the market and how they will be treated, the proposed methods for assessing market benefits, and an approach to wholesale market modelling.

Interested parties are encouraged to review both the PSCR and Market Modelling Approach and Assumptions Report available at electranet.com.au, and share their thoughts and ideas.

Feedback on the Market Modelling Approach and Assumptions Report is sought on or before 6 February 2017 and will be summarised in the Project Assessment Draft Report which will be published by June 2017.

Feedback can be provided at electranet.com.au or by emailing consultation@electranet.com.au.
