Weekly NEM Review Bulletin

Issue #684 - 31 January 2012

Bulletin No. 684 summarises the outcomes for period midnight Sunday 22nd January 2012 to Saturday 28th January 2012.

Average maximum temperatures increased in Sydney, Adelaide, Hobart and Melbourne, and decreased in Brisbane.

Average prices during week 684 increased in all the regions of the NEM. The highest average price occurred in Tasmania at $1526.64, and the lowest was in Queensland at $-195.35. The majority of prices fell in the $21 to $30 per MWh range.

Demand averages decreased in New South Wales, Queensland and Tasmania, and increased in South Australia and Victoria. The regional demand high for the week was 10,161.2 MW in New South Wales, and the low was 869.6 MW in Tasmania.
