The Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) published its 2009 National Transmission Statement (NTS) on 17 December 2009.
The NTS comprises two volumes:
- Volume 1: ‘National Grid for a low carbon Australia’ is a commentary on the detailed modelling AEMO has undertaken and an overview of issues that it aims to resolve in consultation with industry.
- Volume 2: ‘Modelling and Analysis’ is a companion document that reports on our NTS market simulation studies and outcomes in detail.
The NTS modelling provides information about simulated generation and transmission outcomes for the next 20 years for two scenarios that include different levels of demand and carbon price, and incorporate the impact of the Renewable Energy Target.
