Market Information on Planned Electricity Network Outages

The spreadsheets linked to on this page contain the Planned Electricity Network Outage Information for ElectraNet, TransGrid, SP AusNet and AEMO Transmission services, Essential Energy, Powerlink, Transend, Directlink and Murraylink for the 13 month period from January, 2012.

This information has been provided to AEMO by the TNSPs as required under clause 11.30.2 of the National Electricity Rules and has also been published as an AEMO Communication.  The AEMO Communication also includes a copy of TransGrid’s OM 521 which contains limit equation information for their outages.

Questions regarding specific outages should be directed to the relevant TNSP contact in the first instance:

Powerlink: Kim Lundie, email klundie@powerlink.com.au
TransGrid: Geoff Cook, email Geoff.Cook@transgrid.com.au
AEMO Transmission Services: Michael Redpath, email Michael.Redpath@aemo.com.au
SP AusNet: Lance Robson.  Lance.Robson@sp-ausnet.com.au
ElectraNet SA: Steve Ferdinandy, email ferdinandy.stephen@electranet.com.au
Transend: Alan Wang, email Alan.Wang@transend.com.au
Murraylink and Directlink: Stuart Dodds, stuart.dodds@pipelinetrust.com.au
Essential Energy: John Owens, john.s.owens@essentialenergy.com.au

Clause 11.30.2 requires AEMO to determine and publish an assessment of the projected impact of electricity network outages on intra and inter-regional power transfer capabilities.  AEMO has included limit equations and/or alternate transfer capability information and constraint set IDs in these outage plans.

AEMO has developed a constraint equation conversion tool which allows the user to view "Plain English" descriptions of constraint equations, and has made it available to market participants via the MMS Web (http://mms.prod.nemnet.net.au/Mms/login.aspx). For details on getting access to the tool, please contact the AEMO Helpdesk on 1300 300 295.

Market Participants can obtain the Plain English descriptions for each of the constraint equation(s) associated with a particular outage by copying the Constraint Set ID from the from the  spreadsheets containing Planned Electricity Network Outages into the constraint equation conversion tool.

For questions regarding the limit equation/alternate transfer capability information or plain English descriptions, please contact Sujeewa Rajapakse
