Constraint Naming Guidelines

Constraint equations are created for interconnector and intra-regional limits covering both system normal and plant outage conditions. Discretionary, ramping and rate of change constraint equations are also created for specific system conditions. This document provides the guidelines that AEMO follow when naming these constraint equations.

The initial constraint naming guidelines were developed in late 2001, and constraints equations and sets created or revised before then may not conform to the naming guidelines.

There will also be cases where the naming guidelines do not produce the best result in terms of conveying information on what the constraint set or equation should be used for. Constraint Builders may use some discretion when developing names for these constraint equations.
