This notice informs all National Electricity Market Rules Participants, Intending Participants and interested parties that AEMO is conducting the second stage of consultation on the Congestion Information Resource (CIR) Guidelines.
This consultation is being conducted under clauses 3.7A & 3.4.3 of the National Electricity Rules (Rules) in accordance with the Rules consultation requirements detailed in clause 8.9 of the Rules.
The Congestion Information Resource Rule requires AEMO to publish the interim Congestion Information Resource and amend the spot market timetable taking into account the amending rule by 1 March 2010. Furthermore, AEMO must develop and publish the first congestion information resource guidelines in accordance with the Rules consultation procedures by 1 September 2010 and to publish the first congestion information resource by 1 September 2011. AEMO is required to develop the congestion information resource guidelines in relation to, among other things, the intervals for updating and publishing the congestion information resource and these intervals must be included in the spot market timetable.
